What is Woodland Carbon?
- Woodland Carbon is woodland planted in the UK by the Woodland Trust specifically (but not only) to remove carbon from the atmosphere.
- New woodland permanently removes carbon dioxide and other harmful green house gases from the atmosphere and stores it in its vegetation and soils.
- Also provide important benefits to the local communities and wildlife, and adapt the landscape to deal with climate change.
- Projects certified under the Woodland Carbon Code, and green house gas reporting friendly.
