Nissan Forklift Launches New QX2 Series
The New QX2 Series is the successor to the ever popular QX Series. This model range has always been known for its reliability, easy operation and timeless design. Delivery of this truck will start in April 2010 and is available in 3 models, 2.0 ton, 2.5 ton and 3.0 ton. The truck will be a short and long wheelbase available.
COMMONALITY The design philosophy of the new QX2 Series is based on that already available for the Nissan TX and TX4 electric counterbalance models. The commonalities can mainly be found in shared technology, such as the LCD display, steering column and steering wheel. By using the same philosophy, performing service and maintenance is similar to the other Nissan electric trucks.
AC TECH The complete 80 Volt electric system works on alternating current, including the motors and Nissan's AC TECH controller. The performance and efficiency has been improved, while offering lower energy consumption for enhanced productivity. The controller constantly monitors the status of the QX2. This info is then shown to the operator via the LCD display on the dashboard. A four-digit PIN code access system prevents unauthorised use of the truck and can be combined with pre-set parameters to match truck performance to the experience of the operator or to the needs of the application.
COMFORT THAT SUITS The QX2 provides a spacious cabin, while the adjustable suspension seat and the adjustable steering wheel allow each operator to select his ideal driving position. A high overhead guard (2.24 m) is installed as standard offering maximum headroom. Standard hydraulic levers have been conveniently located immediately next to the seat.
The optional FINGERTIP uses electro-hydraulic control levers, making travel direction, horn and lift operations simple with the minimum of finger movement. Combined with the ergonomic design and positioning of the armrest, the QX2 is a pleasure to drive.
Additionally, this system can be supplied with automatic tilt leveling control. At the press of a button, the forks will stop in the horizontal position making operating the truck easier and faster in demanding applications. The CLEARVISION cabin offers excellent protection for the driver.
SAFETY BEFORE ANYTHING The new QX2 80 Volt - AC TECH series has been designed incorporating Nissan's Risk Reduction System and complies with the latest European machinery directive 2006/42/EC. A Mast Lock system automatically prevents the mast being lowered and tilted when the operator has left the seat. The optional steering synchroniser makes sure the steering wheel position is always the same before and after cornering the truck. It enhances safety and provides a logical and better steering comfort for the operator. If the accelerator is released when the truck is on a gradient, an Anti Roll back device will reduce the rolling back action of the truck. The parking brake features a lock to prevent accidental release. Further safety features include warning buzzers for the parking brake and seat belt.
PEAK PRODUCTIVITY AND EFFICIENCY Obtaining optimum efficiency from the QX2 Series has been a combination of two essential factors, say Nissan. Good design to provide the operator with the greatest comfort and least fatigue from the moment he or she steps aboard, and the latest technology for safe, rapid performance and low energy consumption.
For maximum uptime, Nissan have applied five regenerative modes. Power is put back during standard operations such as changing travel direction, deceleration, and engaging foot brake.
Thanks to the AC TECH controller system and efficient motor, the QX2 Series' high travelling speed increases productivity. A choice from among three preset performance modes, or manual mode to customize the travelling and lifting settings are available to suit different operational requirements. In addition, the truck offers high lifting speeds to enhance productivity and helping to get more work done faster.
Further power saving has been achieved through its load-sensing hydraulic power steering system. Here, the pump is activated only when the steering sensor detects activity, greatly reducing battery power consumption and making the truck extremely quiet in operation.
Auto power shut-off is yet another power saver, reducing battery consumption by shutting the truck down if not operated within a pre-determined period.
The optional OPTIVIEW (3V) mast has full free lift. With its two full free lift cylinders to the side, there is nothing in the centre to obstruct the operator's visibility. The operator manoeuvres more quickly and precisely in order to further increase productivity.
EXTRA OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT Besides the options already mentioned, there are a number of choices that can be supplied from factory, such as side shifts and fork positioners. For more confined, height restricted areas, an optional low overhead guard design (2.13 m) is also available.
A special 'Smooth run' anti-shock system ensures that shocks from road / floor are minimised. This gives an extra advantage for example when fragile loads have to be transported over rough surfaces.
