Kohler Daryl Ltd has taken delivery of a new Nissan OPM, electric, order picker at their site in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.  The new order picker is the latest addition to their existing fleet of materials handling equipment provided by their current supplier and service provider the Carrylift Group.

Easy Picking

The new Nissan OPM, electric, 1.0 tonne, order picker recommended by Kevin Gorman, Sales Director for Carrylift, offers exceptional stability and high productivity and is easy to manoeuvre and control around the site.  The order picker is used for picking long loads inside the warehouse and the forks can be raised and lowered by up to 785 mm to the most suitable level for picking.  Precise fingertip control increases productivity by allowing accurate and faster positioning of load handling and picking.   The cab has been fitted with a safety gate providing additional safety for the operator, a further benefit is the high frequency charger which provides extended running time on site for Kohler.

Efficient Operations

The new Nissan order picker joins an existing fleet of equipment supplied by Carrylift, which includes the new range of Nissan QX2, counterbalance forklift trucks and a Nissan TX counterbalance forklift truck all complete with high frequency chargers.  One LPG powered Combilift multi-directional sideloader, specifically designed to work within guided aisles maximising the space within the factory and a Robur pedestrian counterbalance powered pallet truck.

The Nissan QX2, electric, 2.5 tonne, 80 volt counterbalance forklift trucks, work inside and outside in the yard transporting pallets.  One unit was supplied with a low overhead guard to allow for the loading and unloading of glass from containers and Nissan’s unique “C” mast which allows forward entry into the containers with a lift height of 4.7m outside of the containers.    The 80 volt trucks combined with high frequency chargers provides longer operating cycles between charging and a reduction in electricity costs.   Designed for high overall performance the QX2 is the ultimate forklift truck for day-in, day-out operations at Kohler.

The Nissan TX, electric, 1.5 tonne, counterbalance forklift truck is a high power unit supplied for general use around the site.  The ergonomic design of the TX forklift truck makes it a reliable and durable machine and operator friendly ergonomics provides comfort and safety for the operators at Kohler.    

The fleet of equipment have also been fitted with individual didBOX driver identification units to provide a fleet management system for Kohler.  The didBOX units help to maximise the productivity of the fleet and operators, increasing up time and reducing damage costs.
