Why do you need an access platform?

Recent changes in Health and Safety Regulations and an ever-increasing emphasis on the need for employers to ensure that the safest systems of working are in place for their employees means that many traditional methods of working at height will no longer be tolerated by the HSE, Insurance Companies and In-house H&S advisors.   

What do the current health and safety rulings say? 

• All tasks required to be carried out at height must be risk assessed (Management of Health and Safety at Work Act)

• Employers are responsible and will be held accountable for their employees welfare whilst at work (Health and Safety at Work Act)

• Non-integrated platforms on forklift trucks are not permitted for anything other than emergency use.  They should not be used for any routine or planned work.

Although you may think that guidelines about working at height have many ‘grey areas’ think about the consequences you will face if an accident occurs and you have not been following guidelines and meeting with your obligations as an employer.

Also

• Operators of access platforms must be provided with adequate training, delivered by a competent  person (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations)
• Access platforms must be serviced and thoroughly examined twice annually (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations).

• Compact dimensions and tight turning circles allow for use in narrow aisles and congested areas
• Driveable at full height for increased efficiency and convenience!

The New 1230ES Mast Boom Lift

• JLG have introduced a low maintenance, energy efficient, environmentally clean, 3.66 m  mast lift 
• Ideal for compact dimensions, low floor loadings and rental toughness are essential
• Powered by a super-efficient electric drive, increases uptime and boosts productivity
• Saloon-style swing gate, provides easy entry and exit.

Mast Boom Lifts

Electric Boom Lifts

Ideal for applications that are particularly tricky to reach and that may need increased outreach capabilities. 4 model types available with working heights from 11 m – 20 m Max outreach from 6.25 m – 13.23 m Jib-Plus option on 3 model types – for reach over and around obstacles Traction Control and Oscillating Axle options on 3 model types Multi-power models are available.
