Apprentice Engineer
Gloucester
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Forklift Engineer based at our Gloucester Office. The apprentice will be working alongside experienced engineers, to help develop knowledge and skills as a materials handling equipment engineer, whilst studying with an accredited college to gain a formal qualification. Specific Learning includes: Fault finding and repair Servicing Testing Electrical and Mechanical engineering Hydraulics Health & Safety in the Workplace The ideal candidate: Possess good technical awareness Display a ‘hands-on’ approach with good dexterity Relish the challenge of physical work Have a good work ethic Strong focus on working safely Able to work in confined spaces Personal qualities required: Problem solver Good Communicator Enthusiastic with a desire to listen, learn, ask questions and be prepared to take on constructive criticism Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to work well as part of a team, showing respect for others and listen to instructions from others Practical and logical with a desire for problem solving Physically fit and able to climb ladders Ability to prioritise work/tasks. Able to follow processes and adhere to instructions. Having a good, positive, can do attitude Personable, enthusiastic and trustworthy with integrity and respect for colleagues and customers A willingness to learn. Good attention to detail. Future prospects: Successful completion of this apprenticeship may lead to permanent employment. Further in-house and external training and development available. Other Information: Any offer of apprenticeship/employment will be subject to successful completion of a colour vision assessment. Qualifications required: 5 GCSE grades C / 4 or equivalent inc English, Maths, Science Materials Handling Equipment Apprenticeships normally last three years during which time you will attend the Apprentice Training Centre on block release mixed with either mini blocks or day release for basic training and further education. The remainder of your time will be spent with your employer, training in Engineering. The Training Centre will monitor your Apprenticeship on a regular basis to ensure you achieve the standards required including mandatory requirements, core skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours in preparation for your end point assessment. Assessments and interviews will be held at a Carrylift depot with an Operations Manager. You must be able to travel to your place of work, the appropriate training centre. Driving licence would be an advantage and is preferred. Carrylift Group has exciting opportunities for Freelance/Self Employed RTITB qualified forklift Instructors/Trainers to join our busy and expanding team. Delivering industry leading training solutions to our nationally recognised prestigious clients, we can offer both on site training, and full training within our fully equipped Training Centres throughout the UK. We deliver training in all licenced forklift truck categories, from Powered Pallet Trucks, up to 30T Shovel Loaders. In relation to this, we require Instructors who are RTITB Instructor Registered that can deliver training for some or all of the following equipment; FLT, Reach, PPT, MEWP’s, Order Pickers , VNA, Tow Tractors, Pivot Steer, Multi Direction, Rough Terrain Telescopic, Terminal Tractors and Overhead Travelling Crane, Floor Cleaners, Side Loaders, Vehicle Mounted Trucks, etc. As such we offer excellent rates, with the option of flexible and negotiable hours. Instructors must be organised, punctual and have excellent customer service skills. Interviews will be held at our Skelmersdale Head Office, and if successful, you could be offered work locally in the North West, or occasionally anywhere in the UK. We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Area Account Manager to cover various postcodes in the West Lancashire areas.The role includes growth of existing accounts alongside generation of new business, for the sale of forklift trucks, and related services. The successful candidate will have a proven track record, ideally within the materials handling industry, and will be able to work on their own initiative within a busy sales team. Building close relationships with our local operations team is also essential in driving the business forward. A full, and preferably clean, driving licence is required, and the position is fully supported by our Sales Administration and Telemarketing team. The role will be split equally between cold calling for new business, plus developing existing business to agreed set targets. A full driving licence is essential. Experience in the maintenance and repair of materials handling equipment, coupled with excellent fault diagnostic skills would be advantageous. To be successful, you must be well organised, and possess a courteous and friendly manner.
